HOW TO LOWER YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE NATURALLY

Part 29 : Hypnotherapy

There are few  research trials regarding the effect of hypnotherapy on high blood pressure however there is a lot of anecdotal evidence from hypnotherapists and patients that it can be effective.

In a hypnotherapy session patients succeed in attaining a trance-like state and achieving whatever benefits they are looking for (at least temporarily) about 80% of the time.

As far as blood pressure is concerned the hynotherapist can help plant suggestions in the patient which help the subject

  • learn to remain calm in situations which they would otherwise find stressful (and we have seen the effects of stress on blood pressure)
  • visualise and attain reductions in blood pressure under trance which could become permanent if the exercise is repeated frequently

Hypnotherapy relies on a good trusting relationship between the patient and the therapist. Without that trust the patient is unlikely to go into a trance-like state where suggestion is effective. If the patient is a bit reluctant to try the treatment or resistant to going into trance, hypnotherapy has no chance of working. And some people are just uncomfortable about the whole idea of visiting a hypnotherapist - uncomfortable enough to raise their blood pressure!

If you would like to try lowering your blood pressure through the reaxing effects of hypnotherapy but are uncomfortable about visiting a therapist, you can try self-hypnosis at home. You can now buy tapes or download a session from the internet in MP3 format to help with high blood pressure.

If you would like to try this, I found a supplier who has an immediately downloadable MP3 file you can play on your PC or ipod (or other MP3 player) which cost just $8.95 last time I looked. As it has a 90 day money back guarantee it must be worth a go.

Beat Hypertension - Lower your Blood Pressure

As with all alternative therapies, you should not rely on hypnosis alone to cure hypertension, but it may be a useful part of your toolkit to help with naturally reducing your blood pressure.
